In 2016, the Arab American Institute launched our #YallaVote Hotline. The #YallaVote Hotline is staffed by legal experts and both Arabic and English speakers ready to assist voters with questions or issues at the polls. They are also able to provide legal support to address voter suppression or disenfranchisement in your state.
Today, and on election days throughout 2018, our hotline is up and running. Our phone number has changed since years past, and the #YallaVote Hotline may now be reached at 1-844-YALLA-US (925-5287).
During most Primary and General Election days, the #YallaVote Hotline will be live starting at 6AM EST. In the coming weeks, the Hotline will be available on the Primary Election dates of June 5th from 6am-11pm, June 12th from 6am-10pm, and June 26th from 6am-10pm. If you have a voting question prior to Election Day, you may call the #YallaVote Hotline and leave a message with your name, phone number, and question or concern. Your call will be returned as soon as possible.
Election Protection hotlines will also be available at the Lawyers’ Committee at 866-OUR-VOTE in English, at National Association-Latino at 888-Ve-Y-Vota in Spanish and English, and at Asian and Pacific Islander American Vote at 888-API-VOTE in English, Mandarin, Cantonese, Korean, Vietnamese, Bengali, Urdu, Hindi, and Tagalog.
At the Arab American Institute, we want to do our best to ensure that Arab Americans are registered, organized, informed, and ready to vote on Election Day. If you are interested in joining us in protecting our community’s right to the ballot box, you can train to become a #YallaVote Hotline volunteer by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org or calling 202-429-9210.
