Texas Governor Greg Abbott has decided to not allow any Syrian refugees into Texas. This alone is a crime against humanity.
One Syrian family has been displaced almost every minute since the beginning of the Syrian war for an unimaginable total of 4 million. There are more Syrians living outside of Syria than inside it, yet only 2.6% of Syrian refugees have been offered resettlement places in the world. Of them, 41% of Syrian refugee children have contemplated suicide.
These PEOPLE are much more than numbers and statistics. These people are victims of terrorists, not terrorists as Governor Abbott claims. These people have been kicked out of their homes. 95% of Syrian refugees are welcome in only 5 countries, & that number will decrease to 4 unless we speak out for those whose voices have been overtaken.
With your help, we must welcome these refugees in a world that is echoing rejection. With your help, we will let our representatives know that we will not stay silent as they allow these refugees to stay suffering. With your help, we must make sure his decision is reversed. It's the human thing to do.
