AAI Statement On State of Minnesota V. Derek Chauvin

While we were relieved to hear a guilty verdict in the case of State of Minnesota vs. Derek Chauvin, we know that it will not bring back Mr. George Floyd, and we know that far too many victims of police brutality never receive justice.

Today as we reflect on our system of justice, we recommit ourselves to fighting alongside our civil rights and racial justice partners for meaningful police reform. We stand with the Black community and follow their lead as we all fight for a more just world.

We are thinking of the family of Mr. Floyd, all who have been impacted by police brutality and all who worked so hard to ensure justice was delivered.
