AAI offers internships in Washington, D.C. for Arab Americans, college students, recent graduates, and graduate students interested in civil rights advocacy, public policy, and civic engagement. The program is part of the Arab American Institute Foundation's (AAIF) commitment to youth leadership, along with scholarships and awards for public and community service.

Internships during the spring, summer and fall semesters at AAI offer hands-on experience in the workings of a busy nonprofit with programs that include research, event management, community outreach, media relations, and legislative advocacy. Applications are reviewed by senior staff to determine departmental assignments based on each applicant's work experience, education, extracurricular activities, career goals, as well as AAI’s current priorities.
