“Pro-Israel” propagandist and Harvard Professor Alan Dershowitz has declared war on the liberal media watchdog group Media Matters. What is his grievance with Media Matters? It includes MJ Rosenberg, a prominent writer who once worked for the Israel lobby’s leading organization AIPAC, but who has since become critical of U.S. support for Israel’s atrocious policies against the Palestinians.

I am beginning a serious campaign on this issue and I will not let it drop until and unless Rosenberg is fired from Media Matters, or Media Matters changes its policy or the White House disassociates itself from Media Matters.

If Dershowitz’s campaign turns out to be successful, it wouldn’t be the first time a progressive organization had been victimized by so-called “pro-Israel” forces. As Glenn Greenwald of Salon explores in detail, the Center for American Progress (CAP) had also come under similar pressure which it unfortunately caved to. Media Matters has withstood the pressure thus far, but let’s see whether a “serious” and “personal” campaign by Alan Dershowitz could achieve a different result.

It is indeed shameful that Dershowitz is going to be using his leverage to try to silence voices that he disagrees with, but the bigger travesty is that someone as manifestly dishonest as he is still holds sufficient credibility to be able to wage any campaign in the first place. As I demonstrate in this video, Dershowitz has had a truly stunning and ongoing track-record of distorting facts and attacking his opponents with false charges: 


If Dershowitz is going to be waging a shameful campaign to silence his opponents, we should be waging a more honorable campaign to expose his fraudulent work and make sure his legacy ends up in the dustbin of history where it belongs.
