In the lead up to the Spring of 2011, tens of thousands of Arab youth gathered in town squares and city centers.  They stood for freedom, they called for change, and they captivated the world.  These young men and women withstood the pressure borne of decades of oppression.  Around the globe, we watched them march, we heard them sing, and our hearts lifted with their voices as they called for something as simple as freedom.

It is the courage of these men and women that we honored with a Special Recognition for the Youth of the Arab Spring at last week's 2011 Kahlil Gibran Spirit of Humanity Awards Gala.  As part of the presentation to the four young Egyptians who we were privileged to have with us in the audience to accept the award, we prepared this video.  As you can see, it was really made in the region by the dynamic people of Tunisia, Egypt and beyond who inspired us all. With this Special Recognition, we honor their sacrifice and, with them, mourn their fallen.  We are inspired by their refusal to be sated by the status quo, and by their strength in making their vision a reality as they continue their work to transform the Arab world.

The response the video received that evening was tremendous so we share it with you now -- and hope that you do the same.
