IMG_1939.jpgGearing up for our 2016 #YallaVote launch on July 12, Yasmin Hussein spoke at the Society for Egyptian American Professionals’ Annual Iftar in Washington, DC. Sharing information about how to get engaged in the upcoming election and help mobilize the Arab American community to get out the vote (GOTV), Yasmin covered what it means to be a community partner, basics of a GOTV phone bank, and running voter registration and information tables. With more than 60 people in attendance, the crowd was eager to hear how they could make a difference and ensure that Arab American voices are heard this election cycle. The swag, including #YallaVote t-shirts, “Ammu Sam” and “Arab American Voter” buttons were a big hit as well. For more information on #YallaVote or to be a community partner, please email Yasmin at yhussein@aaiusa.org.
