As reported by the Portland Tribune, on September 3rd the Arab American Cultural Center of Oregon-AACCO held the 6th Annual Arab Festival, also called Mahrajan. It was held at Oaks Parks in Portland, Oregon. Arab Americans and others turned out to share in Portland’s Arab culture and a #YallaVote table welcomed people to register to vote. Volunteers in #YallaVote t-shirts caught the attention of many and encouraged them to vote and get involved. Along with the civic engagement, shawarma, falafel, baklava, and black coffee delighted the taste buds while music from all parts of the Arab world amused the ear.
