DREAMers Countdown: It’s been 192 days since President Trump moved to end DACA. The courts did step in to block the move, but Congress has yet to provide a permanent fix.
Launched in 1998, #YallaVote is the foundation of our grassroots voter mobilization and education campaign. With high concentrations of Arab Americans living in some of the largest and most politically contested states – including California, Florida, Illinois, Michigan, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Texas, and Virginia – we know our community can make a difference on issues that matter to all Americans. Beyond just election year organizing, Yalla Vote is our vehicle to make the Arab American community’s voice heard nationally and locally.
In 2017 AAI launched an advocacy road map for our community to go from being the so-called “front line of terror” to the “front line of progress.” This strategic plan lays out how local communities can channel our collective passion, education, and skills into a focused plan to impact local laws and national policy. Check out which issues we are focusing on, and what actions we are calling for: www.aaiusa.org/advocacy_road_map
