The House of Representatives is expected to soon take up the Obama administration’s funding request for the UN Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA), the UN organization that is ensuring Palestinian refugee’s access to basic goods and services. UNRWA could not sustain its crucial work without US support. It is at this critical time that challenges have risen in Congress to cut or even eliminate US funding. This would not only have significant adverse effects on Palestinian refugees, but would also negatively impact US standing in the region at a time when US standing is already compromised by the veto on the UNSC resolution on Israeli settlements.
Act Now! Tell Congress to Approve the UNRWA Budget.
