Yesterday, Palestinian American Mohammad Khalek appeared before an Israeli military court, after being detained for a week by Israeli authorities for ostensibly throwing stones.
Khalek, a 14-year old boy from New Orleans, has been held without access to his parents or lawyers, and has been subjected to hours of interrogation. He apparently had his braces broken from his teeth during the raid that arrested him last week.
Israel’s actions have been condemned by Human Rights Watch and countless other human rights organizations, and today the American-Arab Anti-Discrimination Committee organizing an action alert to push the State Department to protect an American citizen who desperately needs their help.
