Making Iraqi American Voices Heard

The current situation in Iraq undoubtedly impacts members of our community here in the United States. Take a look at this viewpoint from Iraqi American Majid al-Bahadli in the New York Times.

If you are an Iraqi American who is interested in talking to the press, please provide us with a short one-line bio, your current city and state, and a brief response (150-200 words) to this:

“How should the United States respond to the current crisis in Iraq?”

AAI will post responses on our website and promote them through social media. If you are uncomfortable posting your response publicly, we will post them anonymously. Your perspective is important.

Regardless of one’s position on US involvement in Iraq, we all agree that Arab American voices must be part of this dialogue. Thank you for helping us make sure that happens.

We Need to Elevate Syrian American Voices

If you are a Syrian American who is interested in talking to the press, please use this form to provide a short one-line bio, your current city and state, and a brief response (150-200 words) to this question:

“Should the United States respond militarily to the crisis in Syria? Why or why not?”

AAI will post responses on our website and promote them through social media. If you are uncomfortable posting your response publicly, we will post them anonymously. Your perspective is important.

Arab American voices must be part of this dialogue. Thank you for helping us make sure that happens.

Share Your Welcome Story

Please join the Arab American Institute in celebrating our immigrant heritage by sharing your own "Welcome" story-- it could be about when you arrived in the United States, when your parents made the journey, or the story of a distant relative a few generations ago. We need to hear it.

As Arab Americans, we have always shared these stories with great pride. Now, we need to make them part of this wonderful national conversation in support of comprehensive immigration reform.
