AAI to Host New York Town Hall on Immigration Reform, Civil Liberties and National Security

 

On February 17th, AAI and several local partners will host a Town Hall forum in Brooklyn. Elected officials, policymakers, and community leaders will discuss the effects of immigration and national security policies on Arab Americans. Fatima Shama, Immigrant Affairs Commissioner at the New York City Mayor’s Office, will deliver opening remarks.

Sam Saad Elected to Naples, Florida City Council

Congratulations to Sam Saad on his victory yesterday, winning a seat on the Naples City Council. Saad, an attorney and small business owner served on the City of Naples Planning Advisory Board for one year. Sam’s political career includes serving as Special Assistant to the U.S. Solicitor of Labor and Coalitions, Management and Communications Assistant on the Bush-Cheney 2004 reelection campaign.

AAIF Youth Awards

Applications for AAIF’s 2010 Youth Leadership Awards are being accepted. The Helen Abbott Community Service Award and the Raymond Jallow Award for Public Service are given annually to outstanding candidates who have shown a commitment to public or community service.
