Press Briefing: Arab Attitudes Toward the Syrian Revolt and the Assad Government
WASHINGTON - October 19, 2011 - Early next week, the Arab American Institute will hold a press briefing in its offices for the release of its newest Arab Opinion poll: Arab Attitudes Toward the Syrian Revolt and the Assad Government.
Across the Arab world, a remarkable consensus has emerged in support of demonstrators opposing the Syrian government. There is also near-unanimous agreement that Assad can no longer govern in Syria. These are but two of the findings of a poll to be released by the Arab American Institute. Conducted between September 13 and October 2, 2011, the survey interviewed almost 4,000 Arabs from six countries (Morocco, Egypt, Lebanon, Jordan, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the UAE).
This poll is the third of a series AAI has conducted in 2011 gauging Arab public opinion on attitudes toward President Obama and the U.S. as well as attitudes toward Iran. Click here to view the previous two polls.
