DHS Approves TPS Request for Syrians

Washington DC | March 23, 2012 - The American-Arab Anti-Discrimination Committee (ADC), along with the Arab American Institute (AAI), United for Free Syria (UFS) and the Syrian Emergency Task Force (SETF), welcome the decision made by Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Janet Napolitano to approve the submitted Request for Temporary Protected Status (TPS) for Syrian nationals.

Capitol Hill Briefing: Revitalizing the Arab Peace Initiative Ten Years Later

Washington, DC – March 23, 2012 – The Arab American Institute (AAI), J-Street and the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace will host a panel on Capitol Hill next Tuesday to discuss revitalizing American political efforts in favor of the stalled Arab Peace Initiative as an attainable path to Israeli-Palestine peace. Since its introduction in 2002, the historic initiative, proposed by the Arab League, has been effectively ignored by the Israeli government despite wide-held praise for the plan’s viability from the international community.

Today, United for a Free Syria (UFS) along with the American-Arab Anti-Discrimination Committee (ADC), Arab American Institute (AAI), and Syrian American Public Affairs Council (SAPAC) met with the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) to discuss the request for Temporary Protected Status (TPS) for Syrian nationals, who are currently in the United States.
