Jamal Baadani Named Southern California Coordinator for AAI

Washington- The Arab American Institute is proud to announce that Jamal Baadani has agreed to coordinate AAI political activity in Southern California. After the September 11th terrorist attacks Baadani founded the Association of Patriotic Arab Americans in Military. In February 2002, Baadani received the “Immigrant of Inspiration” award from the National Immigration Forum. He has also been featured by PBS, CNN, and People Magazine.

“We are pleased to have Jamal on board. His commitment to Arab American empowerment and his skills as an organizer will work as a significant contribution to our effort,” said Dr. James Zogby of Baadani’s joining AAI.

California is home to the largest Arab American population in the country. Arab Americans are represented in 56 out of 58 counties, are most highly concentrated in the greater Los Angeles and Orange County areas of Southern California.
