“Viewpoint with James Zogby” to Feature Rep. Dennis Kucinich and Debbie Almontaser

In June 26 Episode, Host James Zogby Will Speak With Congressman Who Introduced Articles of Impeachment and Former Khalil Gibran International Academy Principal

WASHINGTON – June 26, 2008 – Today’s edition of “Viewpoint with James Zogby” will feature Rep. Dennis Kucinich of Ohio, who earlier this month introduced 35 articles of impeachment against President George W. Bush, and Debbie Almontaser, the former principal of New York’s Khalil Gibran International Academy.

Kucinich will discuss his reasons for introducing the articles of impeachment and the articles themselves with Dr. Zogby. The articles of impeachment include: “Misleading the American People and Members of Congress to Believe Iraq Possessed Weapons of Mass Destruction, to Manufacture a False Case for War;” “Illegal Detention: Detaining Indefinitely And Without Charge Persons Both U.S. Citizens and Foreign Captives;” and “Katrina: Failure to Plan for the Predicted Disaster of Hurricane Katrina, Failure to Respond to a Civil Emergency.”

Almontaser was forced to step down as principal of the Arabic-language school last summer after being misquoted in a newspaper article, just weeks before the school was to begin its inaugural academic year. The series of events that led to Almontaser ultimately resigning at the request of the Office of the Mayor was recently chronicled in a lengthy article in The New York Times.
