"I want to tell my president Mr. Bush to tell Israel to please stop destroying the roads in Lebanon. I don't know how we can come back home with all the roads and airports destroyed now. Please Mr. President I know you can help the people here in Lebanon."

- Saleem Baltaji, Age 12

Fill out the form below to make your voice heard. Tell President Bush to please listen to Saleem!

Our online petition calls for President Bush to:

1) An immediate ceasefire in Lebanon, Israel and Palestine,
2) The United States should deploy a high ranking Administration official or envoy to negotiate a ceasefire and set conditions for comprehensive peace.
3) Increased assistance for badly needed relief and humanitarian aid to Lebanon and Palestine and aggressively press for the resumption of peace negotiations.
4) For the Bush Administration to take steps to strengthen the nascent democratic efforts in Lebanon and Palestine

Associated PressIsrael's systematic bombing campaign of Lebanon has devastated a country that had rebuilt itself. The international community has recognized the need for strong action and has repeatedly called for a ceasefire.

Join Saleem and other concerned Americans in telling President Bush that only diplomacy can bring about a resolution to the serious and deadly problems in the region. Israel's actions have done nothing to contribute to an environment in which a sustainable, longterm solution can be found. Indeed, Israel's disproportionate response to Hezbollah's reckless action has made Israel's northern border not more, but less secure.

"Dear President Bush,

Now, more than ever, it is important that the United States rightly assume the mantle of leadership in the Middle East. Daily, the violence in the region is devastating innocent civilians.

Therefore, it is urgent that your office call for an immediate ceasefire, appoint a special envoy with the full authority of the President, take steps to bolster the democratic efforts in Lebanon and Palestine and increase desperately needed relief aid to address the growing humanitarian crisis in Lebanon and the Gaza Strip."
