MPAC and Network of Arab American Professionals Washington, DC Chapter is hosting a discussion and book signing with Egyptian-American Journalist, Ashraf Khalil to discuss One Year Later, Whats next for Liberation Square?

Khalil will discuss his firsthand during the Egyptian revolution, as well as his first book, Liberation Square: Inside the Egyptian Revolution and the Rebirth of a Nation" that was published by St. Martins Press on January 3, 2012.
He will also discuss the Egypts current political climate and the sentiments of the people one year after the start of the revolution.
On the eve of the anniversary of the historic events in Tahrir Square, it is important for all of us to asses where democracy stands and if the voices of the people are being heard says Haris Tarin, Director of the Washington, DC Office. There is no one better to do this than Ashraf Khalil who has witnessed the revolution firsthand. We are excited to host a discussion with him to examine the depths of revolution.
Ashraf Khalil, a graduate of Indiana University, is an Egyptian American journalist who has been covering the Middle East for years. He has written for the Wall Street Journal, Los Angeles Times, Foreign Policy, the Times of London and The Economist. He worked as a correspondent for the Los Angeles Times in Baghdad and Jerusalem and has been based in Cairo for most of the plast fifteen 15 years.
