Iyad Burnat at Busboys and Poets: Palestine's Nonviolent Struggle (User Generated Events)

Busboys and Poets (at 14th and V) hosts a presentation and discussion with Palestine's Iyad Burnat on February 3rd!

As leader of Bil'in village's Popular Committee, Iyad is eager to share his experiences with American audiences and illustrate how Palestinians non-violently resist the daily violence of Israeli occupation.

Iyad is one of many activists featured in "Five Broken Cameras," which is nominated for an Oscar as Best Feature-Length Documentary! The film is directed by his brother, Emad Burnat.

For the past seven years, Iyad and other activists have organized weekly demonstrations against Israel's building a "separation barrier" that blocks local villagers from accessing the land to which their past, present, and futures are tied.
