Turaath: Celebrating Arab Culture in America (User Generated Events)

In an evening where classical meets modern, you will hear a new take on the sounds of the trumpet as Amir ElSaffar uses his ensemble to fuse jazz with maqam*!

ADC and the ADC Women's Initiative, in partnership with Alwan for the Arts, are proudly hosting the second annual Turaath: Celebrating Arab Culture in America event on Saturday, December 1, 2012. This event will take place at the historic Lincoln Theatre on U Street in Washington, DC  the same stage where jazz icon Duke Ellington once performed!
