AAI’s Arab American Generations program will be participating in the National Day of Service and Remembrance and in partnership with Day To Serve, an initiative that brings together residents in DC, Maryland, Virginia, and West Virginia for service opportunities during September and October. Each year, AAI participates and hosts various events helping communities in the DMV area. Community service is very important to us and we work to bring Arab Americans together from around the country give back to their communities.
On Saturday, September 12th, from 10 am to 1 pm, we will be volunteering with Bread for the City, an organization that provides comprehensive services to vulnerable residents in the Washington, DC area, during one of their Saturday “Crop Mobs.” Volunteers will be tasked with tending to several varieties of crops, including strawberries, blueberries, blackberries, apples, and Asian pears at City Orchard, Bread for the City’s fruit orchard in Beltsville, MD. All of the fruit grown and harvested at City Orchard is distributed to Bread for the City clients through their two food pantry locations.
We would love to have you join us in giving back to the DC metro area community. Details are below:
