The Arab American Institute is pleased to introduce you to your California Yalla Vote Field Organizer, Shadi Matar.
Q: What is your educational background?
A: I graduated from the University of California, Riverside in 2014, and I am currently getting my Masters in Public Policy at the University of California, San Diego.
Q: What are you most looking forward to in your role as a Yalla Vote Field Organizer in California?
A: I am excited to reconnect with the Arab American community in California, and see new community members get involved in the political process through Yalla Vote.
Q: Why is the Arab American vote in California so important?
A: The Arab American vote in California is important because we make up the largest population of Arab Americans of any state. As a state that has historically led major social, economic, and governmental changes, Arab Americans in California can have a significant influence in helping our country become a better place for all Americans.
Q: What would you like to say to the Arab American community in California?
A: The Arab American community in California has the demographic numbers to really make a lasting impact. We need to continue to register and organize to ensure we amplify our voices on November 8th and beyond. It’s time to #YallaVote!
