Policy Director, Arab American Institute (Washington, DC)
Kristin McCarthy is the Policy Director at the Arab American Institute. Prior to joining the Institute, Kristin worked with the Telos Group’s Project Engage program, bringing Israeli and Palestinian human rights activists and civil society leaders on advocacy trips to Washington, DC and cities across the country. Her efforts focused on elevating the importance of human rights as the related to conditions on the ground and the peace process, and specifically sought to change the perceptions American evangelical communities hold in regard to Israelis and Palestinians. Kristin graduated from Seattle Pacific University with degrees in History and International Affairs. She spent a summer volunteering in the West Bank and studied in Cairo, Egypt. Directly after graduating, Kristin worked for World Vision International as a Peacebuilding Research Assistant; her research contributed to integrating conflict sensitivity into aid and development programs. Kristin was raised in California and now happily lives in Washington, D.C.
