This summer, the Holy Land Christian Ecumenical Foundation will be hosting a “Know Thy Heritage” leadership program in Palestine to “preserve the Arab Palestinian heritage, to connect youth of Palestinian ancestry, who live in the United States and elsewhere, with their roots in Palestine, and highlight Palestine as part of the Holy Land.”

Now in its third year, the Know Thy Heritage leadership program has enabled dozens of Palestinian American youth to experience their homeland firsthand, with the cost of room and boarding covered by the Foundation.

The program includes tours of museums and cultural centers, participation in cultural events, an opportunity to visit various cities in the West Bank, and meetings with influential members of the Palestinian community.

Organizers hope that the experience will enrich the cultural education of participants, and provide a way for Palestinian Americans to give something back to Palestine, and gain the skills needed to serve as an Ambassador of Peace.

This year’s Know Thy Heritage program, which will run from June 25 to July 10, is open to any youth between the ages of 18 and 30 who have Palestinian ancestry or roots in Palestine. All faiths are welcome.
