Doug Bailey, the founder of The Hotline, died at the age of 79.
The Arab American Institute was one of The Hotline's first subscribers and has continued to use the publication as an invaluable tool in its political work. It was through The Hotline that we were able to follow national political campaigns, to track candidates of concern to our community, and to identify young Arab Americans running for public office.
Doug spoke at our early conferences, introduced us to Chuck Todd who also appeared at AAI events. Through Doug and The Hotline we were better informed and more engaged in the political process. That is what Doug was all about. He will be missed, but his legacy of great contributions to our political culture, will live on.
