Whiteout for Peace
Posted on Friday June 1, 2007
40 Hours for 40 Years: Palestine Lives is a unique multimedia experience presented by the Arab American Institute to mark the 40th anniversary of the occupation of Palestine.
As part of the campaign, we're asking supporters of peace and justice in Palestine to participate in this global awareness campaign and protest 40 years of occupation by whiting out their blogs and websites and adding special icons to their social networking profiles from June 4-8.
To get involved in Whiteout for Peace, just choose one of the following easy options listed below!
Whiteout Your Blog, Website or MySpace
Add a special code in your blog: If you have a blog, but don't know a lot about customizing your design, then this option is for you. Just post the code in a blog entry on June 4. Click here for the code (opens in new window)
Upload a splash page: Use this file (right-click and save it locally on your computer) as your new homepage on June 4. Be sure to change the link so it directs to the rest of your website, and don't forget to save a backup of your original index file before uploading.
Use our MySpace layout: Just copy and paste this code (opens in new window) into your "about me" section of your MySpace profile on June 4. Be sure to copy and save the existing code in your profile so you can go back to it after June 8.
Do you have other layouts you'd like to share? Email them to aaimedia@aaiusa.org!
Add a Keffiyeh Icon to Your Profile Pages
Add this kaffiyeh image as your profile picture, and share it with friends!
Right-click and save this image locally, and then upload it to your MySpace, Facebook, Flickr pages and more. Spread the word - the occupation must end!
