Congratulations to Floridian Al Maloof, the newly elected chairman of Miami-Dade County’s Planning Board, who plans to tackle property affordability in South Florida. Maloof served on Florida Governor Jeb Bush’s transition team and helped coordinate fundraising events for President Bush’s 2004 re-election campaign.

Janan Al-Awar has been busy preparing for a comedy show at the Arab American Community Center of Orlando, a joint event with the Jewish Federation of Orlando, that will feature both Arab American and Jewish American performers. We are also proud to announce that Janan’s son, Karim Al-Awar, has just begun an internship in Senator Bill Nelson’s (D-FL) office in Washington, D.C. Congrats, Karim!
