Kudos to George Selim, 26, of Cleveland, Ohio, who is a new special assistant in the Community Relations Service agency of the Department of Justice in Washington, D.C. The Community Relations Service, which was created by the Civil Rights Act of 1964, plays a mediation role in racial and ethnic conflicts around the country. Selim previously worked as community-relations coordinator at AAI, and also did outreach in the Arab and Muslim community for the Bush-Cheney re-election campaign. Selim was also a delegate from Virginia at the Republican National Convention in 2004.
