In Rachel's Words

On March 22, James Zogby and Amy Goodman of Democracy Now will co-host “Rachel’s Words,” a New York event created by groups and individuals to honor the words and life of Rachel Corrie, the 23-year-old American human rights activist who was crushed to death by an Israeli army bulldozer on March 16, 2003, while trying to protect the home of a Palestinian pharmacist from being demolished in Rafah, Gaza Strip. The production “My Name is Rachel Corrie” – already a hit in London – was set to debut in New York City on March 16th but it was postponed indefinitely by the New York Theater Workshop. This event on March 22 was planned in response to the postponement.
