Sharing Our Heritage in Maryland

On April 4, AAI Executive Director Nidal Ibrahim took part in an Arab American Heritage Month event in Montgomery County, Maryland, where he reaffirmed AAI’s commitment to the civic and political empowerment of Arab Americans. Ibrahim, who was joined by American-Arab Anti-Discrimination Committee (ADC) President Mary Rose Oakar, told the 50 audience members about AAI’s continuous work to ensure that Arab Americans have a voice in the policy formulation process of the U.S. “That Montgomery County today holds an event such as this is a testament to local officials’ recognition of the growing political clout of the Arab American community in Montgomery County,” he said. Arab American Heritage Month is a celebration of the diverse cultural traditions and heritage of the Arab American community.
