- For the Egypt program, Fellows will arrive in Cairo on May 10 and return home on May 24. While in Egypt the program will travel between Cairo, Alexandria and Luxor.
- There will be a two week break between the Egypt and American programs.
- The US program will begin in New York on June 7, travel to Atlanta and North Carolina, and end in Washington, DC on June 21.
Fellows must be available for the entirety of the Fellowship travel dates.
Funding: All travel related expenses, including room and board, will be covered by the Fellowship program. Fellows will be accommodated at high quality hotels in Egypt and the US for the duration of the Fellowship. Fellows are only responsible for discretionary spending.
Safety: Safety is of primary importance to the Gabr Fellowship. On matters of travel and security, the Shafik Gabr Foundation and the Arab American Institute will follow the direction of the U.S. State Department and the Government of Egypt. Visa Information: For American Fellows traveling to Egypt, a visa will be secured upon arrival. For Egyptian Fellows traveling to the US we will provide assistance with the visa application process.
