For the third year in a row, AAI President James Zogby will travel this week to Prague to participate in the 2007 Forum2000 Conference. Founded 11 years ago by Czech President Václav Havel, the Conference “aims to identify the key issues facing civilization and to explore ways in which to prevent escalation of conflicts that have religion, culture or ethnicity as their primary components.”
This year’s theme, “Freedom and Responsibility,” will be explored in the context of politics, international law, media and business. Zogby will participate in a panel discussion on the changing relationship between religion and politics. He will also join an informal debate sponsored by the American European Community Association. The forum, open only to a select circle of leading figures in their fields of expertise, will explore “all aspects of corporate, political, financial, economic and social affairs” within the framework of the Conference theme.
Zogby joins a number of notable attendees to this year’s Conference, including HRH Prince Turki al-Faisal, Christiane Amanpour, and former US Secretary of State Madeleine Albright. Past guests have included Bill Clinton, Willem de Klerk, Shimon Peres, and HH The Dalai Lama.
