Since 1988, the AAI and its Foundation have successfully organized gala receptions at the Republican and Democratic national nominating conventions to highlight the rich cultural heritage of Arab Americans and their contributions to American political life and public service. The Arab American tribute reception has become one of the most popular events on the convention calendar of both major parties.

Over the years, the event has attracted as many as 1,000 guests. It features Arabic food, music, entertainment, and showcases Arab American delegates, elected officials, and party leaders. The events are open to all delegates, party officials, guests from the media and diplomatic corps and to Arab Americans from the host city’s business, professional, civic and political leadership.
