Release 2011 Poll of Arab Attitudes Elicits Widespread Media Coverage

At a press conference yesterday, AAI President Jim Zogby released the 2011 Zogby International public opinion poll of Arab attitudes towards the United States, and offered an analysis of the findings. The results show a dramatic drop in US favorability ratings in the region, falling below Turkey, China, France, and Iran. Far from seeing the U.S. as a leader in the post-Arab Spring environment, the countries surveyed viewed “U.S. interference in the Arab world” as the greatest obstacle to peace and stability in the Middle East, second only to the continued occupation of Palestine.
