Democratic Party Splits on Israel
Posted by Omar Tewfik at 1:30 pm
In today's POLITICO, Ben Smith reports on a rift in the Democratic party with respect to Israel. He writes, "The Center for American Progress, the party’s key hub of ideas and strategy, and Media Matters, a central messaging organization, have emerged as vocal critics of their party’s staunchly pro-Israel congressional leadership and have been at odds, at times, with Barack Obama’s White House.”
AAI president Jim Zogby weighs in on the subject and addresses the issue of whether or not this critical contingent will have any impact on President Obama’s standing among Jewish supporters, evangelicals and others heading into 2012.

The announcement sent shockwaves throughout the region and here in the US. Speculation was rife about what this sudden move might mean. Read More »
