“Arab Voices” Available in Paperback

Last year, AAI President Jim Zogby's book on the Arab world, Arab Voices: What They Are Saying to Us and Why It Matters, was released to major acclaim and brisk sales. This month, Arab Voices came out in paperback with a new section on the Arab Spring. The book, and the polling it is based on, have proved invaluable to many analysts and policy makers as they try to better understand the changes taking place in the region.  Read More »

Share Your News With Us

Given the situation in the Middle East, there is a growing need for Arab Americans to be in the media and weigh in on the issues that matter. During the height of the revolution in Egypt we put a number of individuals in contact with various media outlets to ensure Arab American voices were heard. It is extremely important to AAI and to the community that Arab Americans are represented in the media. Please continue to share your news with us and let us know what you are doing. Additionally, if you need any help in contacting the media, we have several tools available and would be happy to assist. Here are some appearances of Jim on a few programs we'd like to share with you. You can also share your news with us by...  Read More »

I’m back on the road again with part two of the book tour

I started in mid-January with two events in Cleveland (the City Club and the National Arab American Medical Association. Both great audiences. The City Club is a great old Cleveland institution that brings together folks concerned with the policy debates about a range of foreign and domestic policy issues. The questions were smart, especially those coming from some of students who were present.  Read More »

Sleepless in Seattle

Closed out the second week with two really wonderful events in Seattle. The Seattle Times previewed my appearance with a great review by Jerry Lange. First stop was Microsoft, where one I had a lunchtime visit with a thoughtful group of about 100. The discussion that followed my talk was smartly focused on the elections... Read More »

From the Washington Post to Seattle, Washington

I woke up this morning, still on the West Coast, to a flood of emails about the piece in the Washington Post. It was so gratifying to hear from friends, near and far. Last night's Los Angeles World Affairs Council was, as always, a great forum. I've been speaking here since 1984... Read More »

A Full Day in San Francisco

A full day in San Francisco. Lots of interviews and the Commonwealth Club. The "talk radio" interviews, if nothing else, make it so painfully clear why Arab Voices needed to be written. Question: "How can you say those people like us, when all they do is celebrate killing us, oppress their women and ...?" Answer... Read More »
