What To Expect For Tonight’s Debate

Tonight President Barack Obama and Governor Mitt Romney will face off for a town hall debate at Hofstra University. The debate will be moderated by CNN’s Candy Crowley and will air at 9pm Eastern Time. While the Vice Presidential debate did not change the overall status of the polls, Biden’s performance did manage to halt the Obama campaign’s downward slide. Heading into the debate tonight, Romney has a slight edge in the national polls, but Obama maintains his swing state advantage with a 50 point Electoral College spread. Ryan/Biden Debate Shows Both Parties Indistinguishable on Syria

So both Romney and Obama have the same policy position: condemn Assad in the harshest terms, work with allies to support the right elements of the Syrian opposition, but no direct intervention unless there is a drastic development involving the use of chemical weapons or threatening vital American interests. Tonight Vice-Presidential candidates Joe Biden and Paul Ryan will meet for a debate at Centre College in Danville, Kentucky. Remembering the Murder of Alex Odeh

Today marks the 27th anniversary of the death of Alex Odeh, who was killed by a pipe bomb as he entered his office in Santa Ana, California. Odeh was the West Coast Regional Director of the Arab-American Anti-Discrimination Committee (ADC) as well as a lecturer and poet who immigrated to the U.S. from Palestine in 1972. He was supposed to speak at the Friday prayer service at a synagogue in Fountain Valley, California the day of his death. Read More »

Senate Report Says DHS Fusion Centers “Wasted Money and Stepped on Civil Liberties”

Danny Thomas Commemorative ‘Forever’ Stamp

Unveiled on January 7th of this year, the Danny Thomas commemorative postage stamp posthumously honors the well-known Arab American entertainer whose radio, TV, and film career spanned five decades. The stamp, which has been sold at more than 30,000 US Postal Service locations nationwide since February 16th, was first introduced at an L.A. Gala on the 50th anniversary of the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee and what would have been the late founder’s 100th birthday. Read More »
