You remember the Emergency Committee for Israel (ECI), right? It’s that shady organization which is forever entangled in its own concocted emergencies, putting out silly adds attacking politicians they don’t deem as sufficiently pro-Israel (i.e. politicians who are capable of critical thinking).  Well, one of their board members had a pretty bigoted rant a couple of days ago, and boy what a bigoted rant it was! Rachel Abrams celebrated the release of Israeli soldier Gilat Shalit like this:

...round up his captors, the slaughtering, death-worshiping, innocent-butchering, child-sacrificing savages who dip their hands in blood and use women—those who aren’t strapping bombs to their own devils’ spawn and sending them out to meet their seventy-two virgins by taking the lives of the school-bus-riding, heart-drawing, Transformer-doodling, homework-losing children of Others—and their offspring—those who haven’t already been pimped out by their mothers to the murder god—as shields, hiding behind their burkas and cradles like the unmanned animals they are, and throw them not into your prisons, where they can bide until they’re traded by the thousands for another child of Israel, but into the sea, to float there, food for sharks, stargazers, and whatever other oceanic carnivores God has put there for the purpose [emphasis added].

Nicely done, Emergency Committee for Israel board member! And just in case you’re thinking a vile rant by someone affiliated with an extremist organization disguised as a non-partisan group is not all that unusual, consider how often you hear or read a vile rant of that sort from the wife of a former Assistant Secretary of State. That’s right, Rachel Abrams is the wife of Elliot Abrams. And while that’s her most prominent personal association, it is hardly the only interesting one. Rachel is also the half-sister of Commentary editor John Podhoretz. As we’ve mentioned before, Commentary is a paranoid outlet which keeps imagining anti-Semitism where no anti-Semitism exists. Considering how eager they are to catch racism and all, will they call Rachel Abrams out? Don’t hold your breath!

Another outrageous character, Jennifer Rubin of the Washington Post (yes, the same Jennifer Rubin that blamed the Oslo massacre on Muslims before any information became available) liked Rachel’s vile tirade so much she actually retweeted it.

Rachel Abrams should apologize immediately, even though she probably won’t. The real question remains, will the prominent individuals and organizations associated with her be called on to disassociate from Abrams or at least condemn these remarks?
