The back story:

A few weeks ago, Rep. Bachmann and four colleagues in Congress, including Texas Representative Louie Gohmert, released letters they sent collectively to Inspectors General of the Departments of State, Justice, Defense, and Homeland Security, and the Office of the Directorate of National Intelligence calling on them to investigate whether "influence operations conducted by individuals and organizations associated with the Muslim Brotherhood" have "had an impact on the federal government's national security policies.”

As Jim notes in his latest column, Bachmann and the other members targeted individual Arab American public servants and relied on information from Frank Gaffney’s Center for Security Policy that alleges, among other things, various Arab American and American Muslim organizations are engaged in "destroying Western civilization from within." On Gaffney’s website, a video linked to his so-called training program "The Muslim Brotherhood in America: The Enemy Within” directly calls out our meeting with FBI director Robert Mueller as an example of one such instance where the U.S. Justice system is appeasing the “enemy.” In addition to hitting out at advocacy groups, Rep. Bachmann directly called out Huma Abedin, Chief of Staff to Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and former New York Congressman Anthony Wiener’s wife, in a letter to the State Department for being part of the falsely-contrived Muslim Brotherhood conspiracy.

We hope you will tune in to tonight’s program and take the opportunity to learn more about this ongoing issue by reading Jim’s latest column, Ellison Challenges Bachmann: Put Up or Shut Upof which an excerpt appears below.

Warning of "determined efforts by the Muslim Brotherhood to penetrate and subvert the American government as part of its 'civilizational jihad'" the representatives wanted the Inspectors General to identify the Muslims who were influencing U.S. policy. Continue reading
